Baby Shower!

So this weekend my sisters threw my baby shower. It was a lot of fun, which was a relief after all the stressing out that was done about it! It was a little sad though that both of my grandmas were unable to come, one is still in Florida for the winter and the other is house bound :(

I think the best thing about the shower must have been the Bill Knapps cakes! I love love love those cakes, and I got to take one home! My aunts couldn't wait for me to finish opening presents to dig in...

I asked my cousin to take them for me, there are a lot of blurry ones, but she did her best :) She NEVER takes pictures, it is so funny because I take pictures of everything, and she probably doesn't even have a camera! Anyways, thanks to my cousin/best friend Mirandy for taking pictures for me. Here is one of us, she is hiding her arm because I was making fun of her and her cheapy watch and gigantic diamond! It is so her though ;)

I HAVE to post these pictures of Ella and the balloons, she was having SO much fun with them after the shower!

She didn't want to let go of them for the ride home! Here she is jammed in the car with them!

And here is a picture of me and my sister, she was so frazzled at the beginning of the shower we didn't think to take a picture then!

I do not look very big at all in these pictures, it is weird, I feel like I am getting bigger, but I don't look big in any of the pictures!

Happy Birthday Elsie!

This Saturday was Elsie's first birthday! So here is a pic of us from this summer:

We are transitioning her to adult dog food right now, it was so sad to buy, our puppy isn't a puppy anymore :(

I almost forgot! We got our crib this weekend! We haven't put it up yet because we have to put away all the painting stuff in the bedroom first, but I hope to have it up by the end of the week, since my shower is this weekend, I want to have the room done so I can put things away. Hopefully I will have pics to post by the end of the week... then I am going to need help picking what color curtains to get!

Quick update...

Today I had my 31 week appointment so I just wanted to do a quick update. Everything is on track with baby, although my dreams of a June 1 baby are quickly diminishing :( I asked and the doctor said that about 42% of women deliver late and only about 5% make it to 2 weeks late... oh well I guess. My mom is betting me that she will come early. My blood pressure was normal for me again, so that was good news, and I told him they took my blood late for the gestational diabetes test, and he said he would only be concerned if I was borderline, but I was only 88 and that is normal, so another relief :) We heard the heartbeat and it was 148, so that is good. He also said that she is head down, and her butt is right where I thought it was!
The doctor also gave me a nasal spray to try, not too happy about it, but I really hope it works because I really need something to help with my breathing. He thinks that the problem is more with congestion than asthma, which is what I think, I don't believe I have asthma, I think I just have really bad allergies... Joel gets mad at my self diagnosis though, I must get it from my grandma!
We are getting the crib tonight too!!! I hope to have it set up by the end of the weekend, we will see though... things always seem to take longer than I expect!
Oh! I have a flower in my yard! I was going to take a picture of it yesterday and post it, but I forgot! I will try to take a picture tonight to post!

***UPDATE*** I want to go late for purely selfish reasons... the busiest week of the year at work is the middle week of May, so I really want to be able to work, it will be a thousand times worse for everyone to be a person short, especially me since I do so much of the prep work in getting things done. And I want June 1 because I am a huge Marilyn Monroe fan and that is her birthday :) Silly, I know. I keep telling myself when May comes around I will be praying for an early delivery though! We'll see!

It was SUPPOSED to be a boring weekend....

So, since it snowed so much on Friday we were buried! Joel got stuck in the driveway Friday night when he got home from work. He shoveled tracks throught the deep snow to the garage so we could get the car in and the tracks were gone by morning! I had called someone to come plow our driveway, but then my mom called my dad to just come do it with the loader. Which leads us to this situation:

He slid off the driveway into the ditch. He said he didn't know there was a ditch there! I don't believe him... it is a steep slope from the driveway to the ditch though, he just slid right on in. At first I thought he would be able to pull himself out, but it was SO slippery and the tired were right on the edge of the driveway, and he couldn't get over the ridge. He called for help... I didn't think a truck would be able to pull him out...

And here is the casualty that is my lawn:

Luckily I think it is almost all damage to the ditch, not that our lawn is that fabulous in the first place though! I am just praying there is no damage to the driveway, we just got is paved last year!

On a cuter note, since I was outside I let Elsie play in the snow, which she loves!

The neighbor's dog, Sadie comes over every time she sees Elsie out, I think she is afraid of her though... Elsie loves big dogs!

Oh! And I finally finished the trim in the baby's room. Now we just have to finish the closet (we ran out of paint) and the trim in the closet, and clean up of course, then it will all be done! We are going to go get the crib next weekend! Yay!
