Christmas Belated

I am a little late on this... but we have been BUSY!

First off, my surgery went well. I have a follow-up on the fifth. It is still tender, but I think it has been less painful than the first time I had it removed!

Elsie got "wrapped up" in Christmas! haha! Couldn't resist!


Addie got lots of books, which she loved!

Poor Addie had an ear infection on Christmas :( It was her first one. We had to bring her to the ER on Christmas Eve because she was running a high temperature (103.8) and was very lethargic and wouldn't sleep. So that is the reason there aren't a ton of Christmas pictures, and she doesn't look too happy. Her urologist said that if she got an infection on antibiotics, it would be a doozy, and it was!
See, not too excited about opening a present.


A bunny!


This bunny is used, by Addie's cousin, Chase. He wanted her to have it because she gave him a sock bunny for his birthday a couple months back.


Addie got a cookie for Christmas! She had to protect it from Presley!

This week I bought Elsie a coat... she gets so much snow balled up in her fur, I wanted something that would help at least a little...



They HAD a pink coat... but I thought it was a stretch for Joel to let me put this one on her!

She FINALLY put her Santa hat on! Why she wouldn't do it when we were doing Christmas card pictures, I don't know! She is a stinker!

Every night she runs to the couch and sits on it like she doesn't need to go go bed.

And in other news, the sock animal business My Amalies that I run with my friend [Julie] could soon be coming to an end if there are no changes to a bill that was recently passed by Congress. In a nutshell, the new law (the Consumer Product
Safety Improvement Act [CPSIA]) will require all children's products (intended
for those younger than 12) to be tested for lead and phthalates. It also
requires each component to be labeled individually providing the manufacturing
date and stating that it complys with the mandated testing. My initial reaction
to this was "Excellent! We need more accountability with our children's items
especially with all the toy scares in the last year." Except I realize now many,
many small businesses that cannot afford this mandated testing will be affected

My surgery is tomorrow at 9:45, prayers that it all goes well! I am sure it will :) Still not excited about it!

Disaster!

We did our Christmas card this past weekend, so I was trying to get pictures of Addie alone for it. Because she is obviously the one people want to see anyways! We found out she loves ornaments...

Unforutately, she loves banging them together... we had 3 ornament casualties :(

That is only part of the disaster... the other part. Our Christmas tree tipped over! Last year at the end of the season, I bought a new stand, a nice plastic one. Well, I guess "nice" is generous, because it broke, and our tree is now leaning against the wall... Addie keeps looking at it and saying "uh oh" which is pretty darn cute!

Here is another picture of Addie with the ornaments, someone wanted to see her Christmas outfit before. She has a red sweater that goes with it. I am sure she will wear it on Christmas also.

Lately when I tell Addie it is time for bed or a nap, she drops... I think that she thinks I can't pick her up if she is already on the ground.

Santa, take 2

We got all Addie's cousin's together to see Santa, that should distract her, right?


Not so much.

She stopped crying for a moment when we gave her a candy cane.

In news about myself. I found out this week that a mole I had removed a couple weeks ago was melanoma. As a precaution, I have to have surgery to remove the surrounding area. I am not looking forward to it. It is on my hip, and the spot where I had the mole removed in the first place still hurts, and this incision will be about 4" bigger. Hopefully it won't be too uncomfortable though. I will be having the surgery next Tuesday, the 23rd.
I saw the doctor today to check out if any other moles are worrisome, and I have 4 that we are keeping an eye on. I will go again in 6 months to recheck them.

My cousin Steve brought his new puppy, well, his wife, Sam's new puppy, to the office today. Addie met Kewee yesterday, but today she really liked her!
