Here is Harvey's development at 7 weeks:

  • Elbows are formed

  • Fingers and toes are forming

  • Intestines are forming in the umbilical cord

  • Teeth are starting to form under the gums

  • Harvey's heart is now beating, probably around 150 bpm

Addie VS Hamper

Addie really likes playing with the hamper, she likes to take all the clothes out, and sometimes put them in her crib, and always crawl in the hamper.

Tonight she crawled in and tried to stand up... of course I didn't have the camera! So, I went and grabbed it... after a while, Addie gave us this gem of a video:

(Here is the link to the video if you can't see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpH7nzDlPxo )

************************************************

We got news that Addie's GI appointment at DeVos is going to be in October, total bummer that it is so far away. Once I get the paperwork I am going to call and get on a cancel list, usually then we can get in, in a week or two. She spit up/threw up 4 times tonight... I feel so bad for her, even though it doesn't seem to bother her.

************************************************

I have decided to post a few things about Harvey's development each week:
I was 6 weeks pregnant on Monday, so at 6 weeks:

  • The intestines and pancreas are already formed and growing

  • The baby's heart has begun to beat!

  • He or she is about a half inch long

  • He or she has little arm and leg buds

  • The nostrils and ears have started to form

Here is a picture of what Harvey probably looks like right now:

On another note, our crib was recalled. I am bummed because I really like it, but also excited to get a new one! I think we are going to get a new one for the baby, and then we will get Addie a new one when we switch her room, otherwise we will have to take it apart and move it... I found one I really like... but I think it is too boyish. What do you think?

I am not sure if I really think it looks boyish, or if I am being swayed by all the boyish bedding on it... Joel knows we are having a boy, so we don't need to worry about that. But I am pretty sure he knew Addie was a boy too, so I am not as confident in his intuition. And we don't find out until probably October, I really don't want to wait that long to get Addie a replacement crib.

Addie finally took some steps today! I missed the first ones, she took 4 right in a row, so I grabbed my camera, and got these! Sorry, it is sideways, I always forget that I can't flip it like a picture!

News and Review

Well... I think most everyone who reads this already knows... but, just in case.... I AM PREGNANT! Yay! Addie is going to be a big sister.... she actually doesn't seem to care about it right now, but I am sure when it comes time to share us and her toys, she will feel differently. We are expecting our new edition in the middle of February. We don't really have an "official" doctor given date yet, but I am going to go with February 15. We have already picked out a name to call this baby until he or she is born, Harvey. My dad called me Harvey when I was little... welll up until I got married I think, when I demanded he stop. So, Harvey, good for a boy or a girl!

Today I did a craft show with my friend Julie.... it was a really rough morning, our tent and table broke during set up! I think we held our cool pretty good though, and were able to get the table to work, and we scavenged my sister's house (thanks again Jenn!) and got another table and a couple laundry racks. It worked out well enough. We also got an umbrella from Julie's house so we wouldn't roast in the sun. The show was a success, we sold lots of monkeys and gave out a lot of business cards! Yay! More news on this later :)

My little weed

Here is Addie's growth chart. Look how much she has grown in the last 2 months!!!!! I can't wait for our official appointment next month.

*****************************

While Addie's growth is doing great, she is still spitting up! I have been talking to the doctor a lot about it. And he is going to refer us to DeVos Children's Hospital to see the GI Specialist to figure out what is going on, since medication doesn't seem to be working. So wish us luck with that!

Our booth at the Cutlerville Craft show will be in Cutler Park. We are in booth #12! I hope the weather is nice! Here is the website for Cutlerville Community Days: http://www.cutlervillechamber.org/

I have a few more announcements coming your way soon!

Ella Phant!

I am so excited about this silly thing! This week was my neice, Ella's, 4th birthday. Since a couple months ago, when I made Addie a sock elephant, Ella has been asking me for one! So, I finally did it for her birthday! Meet Ella Phant!

Ella really got a kick out of it being names after her, which I thought she would because, this child's babies are all names "Baby"!

Speaking of Miss Ella Phant! I am ready for my announcement! Or at least one of a few that I, well we, have had in the works for the last few months. I will only announce one thing today, so you will have to wait for the rest!

My friend, Julie, and I have been making sock animals for some time, and we are doing a craft show together! We are really excited about it! Our goal was to have 150 animals done, but our slackerness has not produced that many, so our new goal is 100 which is more achievable!!! I am still going to shoot for close to 75 for myself, but I am okay with it if I don't make it. We were told that attendence at the show is 1000-1500!

The craft show is June 14 in Cutlerville, if anyone is interested! I will post more about it later when I have more info!

A bird made a nest on our meter:

It is really tall (or I am short, but lets not dwell) so this is the best picture I got last Saturday

And this one is from just a couple days ago

**************************************

Elsie felt left out in my last post, she was there too!!!!! You can see her in some of the backgrounds. Anyways, here he is, on the move... like always!

Isn't she pretty? She needs a grooming SO bad!!!! I don't know that her fur has ever been this long! We have an appointment for next week!

**************************************

On to Addie! I gave her Macaroni for dinner the other day, she isn't the neatest eater.

So she had to have a bath. I stripped her and ran to get her towl and a diaper, and this is what I came back to:

She loves bath time!!!!!!!!!!!

And quickly, Addie weighed 17 pounds this week!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!! I am going to post her weight chart next week so you all can see her progress, next week she will be 14 months old! (Where did the time go?????)
