Big girl bed!

The time has come, we switched Addie's crib to a "big girl bed" aka a toddler bed. We originally planned to do it when she switched bedrooms... then decided that *might* be too much change at once... especially with a new baby on the way!

Here is Addie climbing in the first time!

She loves to stand up and jump





We also had to take out her crib soother... something she still used nightly. She she is, taking after Mommy, and working on it

We had to put the soother back in right away... she still uses it... I think she is going to have it until she is married!

It has been going well, the first night she got out of bed 70 times... that is NOT a misprint SEVENTY!!!! It is getting better though. It still takes her a while to fall asleep most nights, but that has always been the case.

Visiting Oma & Opa

We went to visit Oma and Opa at the Conference Grounds! Addie loves to go to Oma's house for tea during the week, so we thought we would make the trip to visit them at the cottage.

First we brought Addie to the park. I actually got her IN a swing! She wanted immediately out though, you can see her hear grabbing Oma's finger for dear life.


Then we tried the bouncy car (a car on a giant spring) surely she wouldn't be afraid of that!
Wrong!


They have a toddler play set, so we headed to that... she liked the tubey thing



Maybe a slide?


Ready to go!

Nope! Didn't do it!

So next we tried the merry-go-round, she seemed like she might like it.


A winner!


She loved it!











Then she wanted to go on the big play set...


And the BIG slide!!!!!! This is right before she twisted to the side and started crying :(


Back on the fort. She really wanted to climb the rock wall, but she was too little, so Joel too the route down while holding her.


That wasn't good enough though.


It was HORRIBLE!


We finally pried her off of the rock wall, and walked to the beach. That was a no go, it was just too hot and buggy, so we went back.

Addie saw some sidewalk chalk, and HAD to partake!








Then we walked back with the rest of the kids to eat. Here she is getting hit by the sprinkler, she thought it was pretty funny.





We saw a german shepherd puppy on the way back... of course, Joel had to stop to have Addie pet it. She loved it.

Pool party?

In the hot days of June we decided to take Addie to my mom and dad's pool for the first time this year.
My mom wanted to try to put Addie in this tube for babies... she was nervous.


I knew she wouldn't like it! Even though Kristopher is trying to give her the thumbs up about it!


She did like standing on the step in the safety of Grandma.


She especially liked the ball!


Got it!











She LOVES splashing her feet!














Daddy got her to go in for a little swim (she was paddling her feet, but of course, I missed the picture!)














Throwing the ball (I don't know why she looks so angry in this one!


She kept throwing it, and I don't know how, but almost every time, it would come back at her and bonk her in the head... she thought it was hilarious!
