And the Acorn goes to..... (aka The longest blog ever)

I probably could have seperated this out into several posts... but that is just boring! And apparently my blog is telling people that I need to update, so, here it goes!

We spent a long weekend in Grand Haven at the Conference Grounds. We opted to stay in the new cottages they had... we just aren't brave enough to tent camp with Addie! Hopefully next year we will be able to get a camper!

We stayed in the Peace cottage, here it is:

We think it is nicer than our house. Here are some pictures of the inside.

Here is the bedroom on the main level, it is the window to the right from the outside.

Walking out of this bedroom, you see the living room area

Then the kitchen

The dining area

The large bathroom

Then you go up the stairs (which is Addie's favorite part! We don't really have stairs we use at our house)

To the right is the loft bedroom, that we used. Looking back we wish we would have used the downstairs bedroom, as sound traveled easily, and we brought the TV and we could barely have the volume on without worrying about waking up Addie!

The small bathroom upstairs

And the big bedroom upstairs

Now! On to the fun picture!

Okay, I guess this isn't so fun... Addie after she is told we are not going outside... she really loves it outside!

Wearing Daddy's shoe!

Climbing up the stairs with her Nemo backpack!

This vacation is the first time we have taken Addie to the beach, we thought she would love it!

Not so much....

Here is her first time in the sand (notice she will only put one foot in the sand)

hmmmm maybe....

Nope. Doesn't like the sand. She takes after her mommy!

Maybe we will give the water a shot.

Nope, not so much.

This is what she likes...

And a win! On the beach and not crying!!! (this didn't last too long!)

We'll play is safe right here.

Ahhhh! not safe! not safe!

Finally! Get me out of here!

Yay! On the way home!

I put pigtails in Addie's hair because it was so greasy from the sunscreen, and we didn't want to do a bath in the middle of the day.

They were so cute!

Asking to go outside

This is just to show the cute pigtails

Addie loves pulling the strings on the fan and light.

Lounging on the stairs (moments before doing a somersault down them! eek!)

We went to the pier in Grand Haven and walked down it.

Addie LOVES walking...

Looking at the water

I wanted to get a picture of her sitting in front of the grass... that didn't work out!

On to the acorns!!!!! Apparently Addie is obsessed with Acorns... she picked them up everywhere, and carried them with her everywhere.

We thought we would give the beach another try (notice the acorns in her hands in almost all of these pictures)

Oh no!!!!! We are going to lose an acorn!!!

Daddy trying to show that the water isn't SO bad!

Hey! It IS kinda fun!

Yay for the water!

And are those feet getting in the water???

Still not liking the sand, Joel is trying to put her down here...

Then she just plunked in the sand!

Trying to get the sand off of her hands

Walking back the the cottage Addie found an interest in the squirrels... here she is pointing to one (she also "woofs" at them, cute video coming to a future blog near you)

"Want an acorn?"

I don't know what we were about to eat here, but how cute is she?

The acorn backrub, it is so great!

Picking up more acorns....

Addie found her shadow! Here she is waving at it, acorns in hand.

Addie waves at everyone she sees, she is so friendly. Except, some people don't see her, and she doesn't understand why they don't wave back, so she stands there, confused... it is so sad.

MORE acorns... this is acorn heaven, look at them all!

Here we are at the playground

At the top of the fort, to go down the side.

eh.

More stairs!

Dinosaur. eh.

Something fun! The Merry-go-Round!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She loved this!

Phew! That was a long one for sure!!!! I have a couple videos to post, from today and yesterday. Will do that later.

Also, Addie is going to the GI doctor at DeVos Children's hospital since she is still spitting up, blah! Wish us luck on that one, hopefully we can figure out what the problem is!!!

Almost forgot! We planned to have a couple things done while we were gone. We now have a new sump pump with backup! Yay! Hopefully it won't break, and our basement will stay dry so we can finish it!!!!! Also, we had tile put up in our bathroom in the tub! It is SO much better than the stupid surround that we had! Maybe I will post pics of that later on!
