Waterfront Property

Yes, we now have waterfront property. It rained so much today, this is our "backyard"

It is hard to tell, but the water is probably about 4' from our house, in the lower right hand corner of this picture you can see our air conditioner, which is right behind our house.

And since everyone complains when there is no Addie in the blogs, here she is today, quite crabby... she is getting over (fingers crossed) a cold.


Addie's latest joy is opening cabinets....
and getting into the garbage! I think she is around Elsie too much...

Also, today I talked to her doctor and she is being reffered to DeVos Children's Hospital Urology. I am a little surprised because I don't think she has had THAT many bladder infections, but only 2 right in a row. I am no doctor though. Her appointment is set for May 14.

Finally!!

About a week and a half ago my friend Julie and her son Jack, went to Frederik Meijer Gardens with Addie and I, to see the butterflies.


It was lots of fun, here are some pictures:

We went outside to look at the children's part, even though it was cold out, it was still cool. Addie is so funny in the stroller, she always holds on to the sides, like she is in a roller coaster or something.

Maybe he was just trying to hold her hand... she knows she isn't old enough for that yet!!!!

Julie got a few better pictures of them than I did. Neither of them were all that in to smiling. Oh well, it was still fun.

In other news, we painted our bedroom this weekend. I am still not sure if I like it, I don't think it matches our bedding well, I will have to post a picture and get opinions!

And we have an appointment!

Good thing we went to the doctor today or we would have fallen through the cracks! I talked to the scheduler while I was there today, and she said that she thought DeVos Children's Hospital had called me! They have not! So. The girl looked up when the appointment is, and it is scheduled for May 16, yes MAY! Apparently that is typical. So, we have a long wait! The girl did give me the number there in case that date didn't work out, so I called of course, to see if I could get anything earlier, and couldn't :( But I did get on the waiting list, so that at least is good, hopefully we will be able to get in earlier.

The next step...

As many I of you know, Addie has been struggling in the weight department. I have been having to weigh her every week and call in to the doctor with her weight. She is still breastfeeding, and I can give her the solid schedule of a 4-6 month old.

She has been gaining weight VERY slowly. I looked it up, and the average baby her age gains 2-4 oz a week. Addie was probably around 12 lbs 10 oz for a month.... and this week she lost weight... she had FINALLY made it to 13 lbs, last week she weight 13,2, but this week she was down to 12,14. Doesn't seem like a lot, but it is when she should be gaining.

So, the nurse called me back this morning, and Addie is being referred to Devos Children's Hospital Endocrinologist. They are probably going to be doing blood work and an exam to see why she isn't gaining. The scheduling girl is supposed to call me, the nurse said it will probably take a little while to get in, so I am just waiting right now.

So, prayers that we find out what is going on with her, and that is it something with an easy remedy.

Boy! I am a blogging fool the last couple days!

After church Addie and I went to my sister's for Easter dinner.... I forgot Addie's booster! So I had to bring her big stroller in for her to eat in... embarassing mom moment, I didn't even think about it!

Playdate and Cheescake!

Some of you know, Rachel started a cheesecake business... so the second I heard that she would be in town for Easter, I thought I must order one so we can have a playdate! I invited Julie as well, so it wouldn't be just the girls. Jack isn't so sure about this new little girl :)
Yeah, it was about impossible to get Addie and Morgan to look at the camera at the same time!

And the CHEESECAKE! I have only had cheesecake a few times, never sure if it was "New York style" or not, so I thought I must go on this new food adventure.

The cake was excellent by the way! I think Rachel needs to figure out how to ship these things to the west side of the state... or move!

Off topic, we got new curtains by our slider. Elsie doesn't like them because she can't constantly poke her head out the blinds anymore. I like them because she doesn't bark out the window as much!!! She does still check out the yard though...

And Addie has started to join her, she likes to pull on them! I hope they don't fall down!

Oh, and I went to Frederik Meijer Gardens for the first time this week, I have lots of pictures from that, but just haven't had time to post them yet!!! I promise I will do it this week!

Bath Time is Fun Again!!!!

Addie always loves baths in the tub, she had such a great time... until a few weeks ago. She face planted in the tub, got a nose full of water, and DID NOT like it!!! Ever since then she would scream through her whole bath :( So we bathed her as little as possible! It must have worked! Today we filled the tub and she was all smiles! She played with her toys...

Then after her bath I wanted to take a picture of her in her new tutu. I made it for her a couple days ago. I wanted to have a picture of her in it for her invitation to her first birthday party... this is what she thought about it...

And this was the best picture, she was NOT happy! Oh well. I did make it into a new header for the blog, so it wasn't a complete waste.

My friend and I are going to Frederik Meijer Gardens tomorrow to see the butterfly exhibit, so hopefully Addie will be a little happier and I can get a good shot there for her invitation, otherwise I will try again tomorrow night. Wish me luck!!!
