24 Week Update

So I had my 24 week appointment on Monday, which went well. And since a few people commented on my belly size, I thought I would post my latest belly picture. Heartbeat was 148 at the doc, which I thought was a little low, it has always been in the mid 150s but oh well, the doctor must have thought it was okay. And the big news, I gained 8 pounds since my last appointment, yes that is EIGHT!! Usually I have been gaining like 1-3 or so I think, I am now up 13 pounds from the beginning.

For some reason I don't think I look that big in the picture, when I wear maternity shirts I look bigger.

So at the doctor he said I looked pale, which of course made me feel great. Pale is normal for me, it is who I am. So he said I should start to take some iron supplements.

I have a doctor's appointment today, so I am excited about that, and tonight we are going to go to finish registering, it will be nice to have that all done.

Since I don't have a lot to write about, I thought I would post this. I have been trying to see the baby kick by looking at my stomach, which I never seem to get good timing on, but I have seen it. Well, Joel says he can't tell between the kicking and my breathing, so I thought I would try to record it with my camera. I got it on the first try, it took only 10 seconds, which is shocking since it always takes forever to see. Anyways, here is the video, it is only a couple seconds long, and I really feel like my belly button is huge!

This weekend was more fun than expected, which is always nice. On Saturday my mom and I decided to go out and look at cribs. We went to USA Baby, but really didn't find a lot there, plus I thought it was way more pricey than I wanted to go. So we went to Babies R Us and I picked a crib, and they do TRIP so I will get 3% back, which isn't a ton, but it's something! We also looked at car seats, which is the funny thing. I found one I liked so we were checking it out. We wanted to take it off the base, so we turned it so we could reach the back to get it off, then I straightened up the base. We were looking at it, and then we went to put it back on the base, and we couldn't get it on! I swear we screwed around with that thing forever! We just couldn't get it back on. Then a male customer came over and was watching us, which added to the frustration! Then he tried to help, and figured out the problem right away, when I straightened the base, I put it backwards! We felt SO stupid! I can't believe we did that. I just had to share though.

Today is Joel's birthday too! My mom always remembers because it is also Elvis's birthday. We were hoping we could do something fun, but it isn't looking good, we have to puppysit Presley for my mom, so we don't want to be gone for a ton of time. Oh well, though, maybe this weekend we will be able to go see a movie or something.

I am excited for the Bible Study tomorrow, I hope that everyone can come and has a good time, and that I can make it through, I am SO nervous!

Kitchen before and afters...

Here are the before and after pics of the kitchen with the new countertops. Now we just have to paint the cabinets and put on the new hardware. And also get some light switch and outlet covers, I am not sure what kind I should get now.

I think it looks better in person, you can't really see the nice backsplash, and it looks kinda washed out, but you get the idea! We also got can lights which you can't really see, and undercabinet lights, it is such an improvement, it is amazing how much better lighting helps!
