It isn't because I am so behind... it is because this is literally the only picture I took in May. Eeek!

Well, to tell the truth, there are two others, but it is just varied expressions of this picture! haha!

Addie's dance recital is tomorrow, so I should have lots of good pics from that!

Catching up... February 2010

I can't believe I haven't posted in 2 MONTHS! Things have been crazy around here! In February, we decided to see what would happen if we put our house up for sale. We saw one we liked, and thought we would take a chance and see what happened... our house sold within TWO WEEKS! So, needless to say, we have been busy! We closed this past week, and are now living with my parents. And we decided the original house we looked at wasn't for us, so we are building!

Secret behind this picture: Addie really poked Evie in the eye... Evie is crying not laughing, and Addie is trying to keep her quiet by covering her mouth... I let people think Evie is laughing though.

Waterfront Property

Yes, we now have waterfront property. It rained so much today, this is our "backyard"

It is hard to tell, but the water is probably about 4' from our house, in the lower right hand corner of this picture you can see our air conditioner, which is right behind our house.

And since everyone complains when there is no Addie in the blogs, here she is today, quite crabby... she is getting over (fingers crossed) a cold.

and getting into the garbage! I think she is around Elsie too much...

Also, today I talked to her doctor and she is being reffered to DeVos Children's Hospital Urology. I am a little surprised because I don't think she has had THAT many bladder infections, but only 2 right in a row. I am no doctor though. Her appointment is set for May 14.

Busy Week!!!!!

I haven't updated in a while, so I thought I had better. We have been so busy lately! We are working on painting our kitchen cabinets, which is a huge job... a huge job that is made even harder when you have a baby to entertain and a dog looking for trouble to get in!!!!


I took most of the week off so we could work on painting, and hopefully get it done in a week, but things came up, and we had to put off things a lot. So we got a little less than half done. I took before pictures, so I will post the before and after, when we are hopefully done next week.


Here is a picture of Addie and Elsie while we painted:

Addie was a baby bum a lot, we left her in her jammies most of the day. I think she liked it though :)

We also got new bedding this week! I ordered it last week, and they said it would be 2-4 weeks, so I was pleasantly surprised to get it this week. Here is Addie while we switched out the bedding.

You can see Elsie off to the side, lurking, she usually loves to play in the sheets when we change the bedding. Our old bedding was so threadbaron, so we really needed to upgrade. LOVE the new set... I will have to put Addie on the bed and take a picture... because every picture should have Addie in it, right?

Did you notice her new trick? I just realized in both pictures, she is sucking her lips in... silly girl!

Well, I think that is all we have been up to... nothing too exciting. Wish us luck on finishing the painting... we will need it!!!!!!

I almost forgot... Addie has to go to the doctor tomorrow, Monday, because she has been acting a little weird, not responding to us. It has only happened twice, but when I told the nurse about it at her flu shot, she was concerned enough to have us schedule an appointment. So wish us luck that nothing is wrong, and she was just tired. That is what I thought it was... then Joel started talking about seizures and make me nervous!

Yay! Yay! Yay!!!!!

We FINALLY got a new garage door! We have been saving for what seems like forever and we finally took the plunge and got the garage door! I took before and after pictures, yes, I am that nerdy... here you go....

I think it looks tons better! Now we just need to get a new door in the kitchen (that goes into the garage) with a window and we will be able to see the driveway from in the house!

And because I strive to put a picture of Addie in every post here you go, not taken today... a couple weeks ago actually, but there IS a point to it. Addie can ALMOST sit on her own now! She can do it for a max of about 30 seconds, and then she either tips or folds completely in half. It it pretty funny, she gets this look on her face, like "what is happening!" it is super cute.

So here is our little sitter, well she isn't really sitting on her own in this picture, it is the best I could do! I will work on getting a good one.

I guess that is all the updating I can do right now, next time I should have lots of good pics, we are going up north this weekend, for our first family vacation!!! We are very excited, and I cleared out the memory on my carmera to make room for all the pictures I am going to take! I cannot wait!

Seriously!

Some of you may remember last year when a tree nearly fell on our house (if not, here is the link to my old xanga post: http://www.xanga.com/private/yourhome.aspx?user=MrsAmandamm&nextdate=7%2f25%2f2006+14%3a32%3a26.780&direction=n) Well, it has happened again!

It actually happened on Tuesday, here is what I drove home to find:

When I pulled in the driveway I was in such shock. I just couldn't figure out what had happened! Here are some more pics of how close it came to smashing our garage and my brand new flagpole!:

Apparently it had rotted, which is shocking, it looked completely healthy!

And if you look at how it was... it SHOULD have fallen on our house, that is the direction it was leaning.

From the garage:

I was totally temped to jam a branch through our garage door, it is such a piece of junk! Then we could get a new one! I guess I have to wait!

I called my aunt and uncle who have a wood burning stove, and offered it up to them, thank goodness they were available that night to at least move it out of the driveway. It is still sitting in the side yard, but that is better than where it was!

One more picture, I took it from my car on the way home one day, how pretty was the sunset!

Still no water! The guy came yesterday to hook up the pump, but he didn't finish, he said he was "losing daylight" Hello! You should have come before 3:00 or whatever time it was! I am getting a little ornery about the whole thing. Anyways, hopefully tonight it will be done. I have run out of socks so I really need to do laundry! The guy also told me that they accidentally cut our phone line! Ugh! We don't have a land line, but we were planning on getting one next year, and I don't want to pay to get that fixed. I am pretty sure they are planning on fixing it, so that isn't too bad. They also told me that they are going to unhook our air conditioner because the breaker box is full, so before next summer I am going to have to get an electrician to do that. If anyone knows someone let me know, I had nothing but a bad experience with the last electrician we hired!
I guess that is it, I just needed to vent a little. Hope everyone has a great day!
